Outcomes

Outcomes are most impacted by fear. Our modern world is a risky place and evokes many well-founded fears. But these fears themselves create a new risk for our health and well-being that needs to be addressed.

Charlie Brown once said “I've developed a new philosophy... I only dread one day at a time.” If only this were true for many of us in the real world. From transgenic food to industrial chemicals, from radiation to mobile phone towers, the new technologies of our modern world have offered us wonderful new benefits, which also pose a host of new risks. Some of these risks are physically real. Many are only phantoms of our perceptions. Both contribute to an undeniably real sense of worry and apprehension that extends far beyond the next 24 hours. So we must learn to be afraid for 24 hours and then have the will to fight for better outcomes. Easier said than done but there is a method to the 24HR Expiry on Fear.

Just tell your self, being afraid will only be reductive. Be afraid of that vs fear it self. If you make a decision based on fear, it'll never have a good outcome.

I'm not talking about legitimate fears that exist to protect you, like fear of ferocious animals, fire, or standing on the edge of a multistory building roof without railings. I'm talking about the really pointless way to shoot yourself in the foot for absolutely no reason. Yes, it's all about you.

Quit chasing fear; if you don't, positive outcomes wont chase you.

A risk we choose seems less dangerous than a risk that is imposed on us. So we are ok to high risk jobs for other people as they seem ok, given they are part of a large company and are better documented etc. The information affords choice, although it does nothing to change the actual risk. So if you did it your self, you may have a chance at the same or better outcomes yet you choose not to do it? Due to fear. Overcome how you process fear to win at life.

One New Thing (That I Learnt some time back)

The Superman curse refers to a series of supposedly related misfortunes that have plagued creative people involved in adaptations of the DC Comics character Superman in various media, particularly actors who have played the role of Superman on film and television. The "curse" is frequently associated with George Reeves, who starred in Adventures of Superman on television from 1952 to 1958, and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at age 45;and Christopher Reeve, the portrayer of the superhero in four theatrical films from 1978 to 1987, who was paralyzed in a 1995 horseback riding accident, and died nine years later at age 52 from heart failure.

The curse is often invoked whenever misfortune is experienced by actors and other personnel who work on Superman adaptations, so much so that some talent agents cite the curse as the reason for the difficulty in casting actors in the role in live-action feature films.

Some Insane details here of who allegedly has been cursed.

Dubai-based Pakistani Naila Kiani set out to summit world’s second highest peak K2. She is the first Pakistani female mountaineer to climb the 8000-meter high Gasherbrum II has set out to achieve her ultimate goal: summit K2.

Her deep love for mountains inspired her to have a small wedding celebration at the K2 basecamp in 2018. The photoshoot in a traditional red Pakistani wedding dress made her famous as some locals gave her the title of ‘K2 Bride’.

Naila completed her Gasherbrum-II summit along with Sirbaz Khan, and Ali Raza Sadpara - the legendary mountaineer who died in Skardu in May this year after falling from a cliff. Pakistani mountaineers called Sadpara “master of the masters” who has trained a whole generation of climbers and had the honour of climbing Pakistan’s 8,000-metre peaks 17 times. Naila said she has decided to “dedicate this expedition to Ali Raza chacha.”
