The $10M Sweet Spot: A Lesson from a Billionaire
In the new year, I found myself in a conversation with a billionaire. Yes, with a capital 'B'. As we sat down over coffee, surrounded by a sea of luxury cars and manicured lawns, I couldn’t help but marvel at the scale of his wealth. But what struck me wasn’t his opulence—it was his perspective.
We got talking about money, its power, and, interestingly enough, its pitfalls. His candidness took me by surprise as he admitted, “There’s a point where money stops working for you and starts working against you.”
He elaborated, explaining that his life was at its peak when his net worth hit around $10 million. It was the sweet spot, he said—where you have “f-you money” without the soul-crushing headaches of real wealth.
He was hosting his once a month session for founders, he went on to tell them, that those with exits between $5 million and $50 million, this perspective is crucial. Here’s the lesson he shared:
1. Wealth as a Freedom Multiplier
At $10 million, you’ve unlocked the ultimate cheat code: freedom. This is the point where money buys you time, choices, and the ability to say no. No more working with clients who drain you, no more projects that don’t light you up. You can live life on your terms, pursuing passion projects or simply taking a much-deserved break. He encourage every one to go home take the weekend and think, “If money was not an issue what would I rather do with my time?”
As our conversation deepened, he revealed that beyond this level, wealth starts demanding more than it gives. Managing it becomes a full-time job. The responsibilities multiply—teams of lawyers, accountants, security details. “The freedom you were chasing gets replaced with complexity,” he confessed. He told me that he did not know in real time where his children were, he didn’t mean where in terms of the house, but in terms of country or what home or what jet or why.
3. The Lifestyle Delta: Marginal Gains, Exponential Costs
He laughed as he described the difference between a $10 million and a $50 million net worth. The biggest changes? The frequency of private jets and whether you choose a Rolls or a custom Ferrari. The real kicker? These upgrades don’t equate to a higher quality of life—just a flashier one. The marginal utility of additional wealth diminishes rapidly.
4. The Trap of 'More'
Entrepreneurs are natural chasers, driven by ambition. But he warned against the endless pursuit of "more." There’s always a bigger fish, a higher net worth to aim for. But at what cost? “At some point, you need to ask—am I accumulating for impact or out of habit?”
A Challenge for You
If you’ve recently had an exit or are building towards one, take a moment to reflect:
What does financial freedom look like for you?
Are you chasing a number, or are you designing a life?
How much is enough for you to live comfortably without the burden of managing immense wealth?
Will more money enhance your freedom or complicate it?
The Billionaire's Closing Thought
As we parted ways, he left me with a thought that’s stuck with me:
"The smartest entrepreneurs know when to stop chasing and start living."
What ever your network, remember that true wealth is about the freedom to live life on your terms—not about the extra zeros in your bank account. So, what’s your sweet spot? Where does wealth start working against you?
My take away: Reflect, recalibrate, and maybe—just maybe—give yourself permission to enjoy what you’ve already built. Do not be the weakest strong man at the circus.
Outcomes
Working hard is not acceptable any more.
The game is changing. No, scratch that. The game is being rewritten. And if you think working hard is enough to keep you in the race, you’re already behind.
Let me be brutally honest: the pace of AI adoption isn’t just fast—it’s exponential. This isn’t another NFT or Bitcoin hype cycle. This isn’t a trend you can ignore until it fades. This is a fundamental, DNA-level shift in how we work, think, and compete. And if you’re not in the game, life is about to get really, really hard.
Think about it. AI isn’t just another tool. It’s a force multiplier. It’s not just automating tasks; it’s redefining what’s possible. And while you’re grinding away, thinking your hustle will save you, AI agents are quietly reshaping entire industries.
Let’s put this into perspective.
The Pace of Change: AI vs. Everything Else
The Internet: It took about 15 years for the internet to go from novelty to necessity.
Smartphones: They transformed society in less than a decade.
AI: We’re seeing adoption curves that make those look glacial. ChatGPT hit 100 million users in two months. Tools like MidJourney and Stable Diffusion are already reshaping creative industries. AI agents are automating workflows, writing code, and even closing sales.
This isn’t just happening in tech. It’s happening everywhere.
Healthcare: AI is diagnosing diseases faster and more accurately than human doctors.
Law: AI is parsing contracts and case law in seconds, not hours.
Finance: Algorithms are making investment decisions in milliseconds.
Retail: AI-driven personalization is redefining customer experiences.
And here’s the kicker: ignorance is not an excuse. Just like not knowing the law doesn’t absolve you of responsibility, not understanding AI won’t protect you from its impact. The entrepreneurs who thrive will be the ones who embrace it, not the ones who hope it’ll pass them by.
The New Reality: Adapt or Die
The days of “just work hard and you’ll succeed” are over. AI doesn’t care how many hours you put in. It doesn’t care about your grit or your hustle. What it cares about is efficiency, scalability, and results. And if you’re not leveraging it, someone else will.
Think about it like this:
Your competitor is using AI to automate 80% of their operations, while you’re still doing it manually.
Your client is expecting hyper-personalized service, and you’re stuck in the one-size-fits-all era.
Your market is moving at the speed of AI, and you’re still running on human time.
This isn’t fear-mongering. This is the reality. And it’s coming faster than you think.
What You Need to Do Right Now
Educate Yourself: You don’t need to be a coder, but you do need to understand how AI works and how it applies to your industry.
Experiment: Start integrating AI tools into your workflows. Test, iterate, and learn.
Think Bigger: AI isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about reimagining what’s possible. How can you use it to create something entirely new?
Build a Moat: As AI levels the playing field, your unique value—your creativity, your vision, your relationships—will matter more than ever.
The Bottom Line
This isn’t just another wave. It’s a tsunami. And it’s not coming—it’s already here. The entrepreneurs who thrive will be the ones who ride the wave, not the ones who get swept away.
So ask yourself: Are you adapting, or are you clinging to the past? Are you building for the future, or are you hoping it’ll wait for you?
The clock is ticking. What are you going to do about it?
If you’re not already experimenting with AI, you’re not just standing still—you’re moving backward. The future belongs to those who act. Don’t get left behind.
One New Thing (That you likely didnt know)
Andrew Carnegie, the original billionaire who gave spent 90% of his fortune creating over 3000 libraries worldwide because a free library was how he gained the eduction to become wealthy.
Boring Stuff That Scales
How I Turned $2 Questions Into a 7-Figure Mindset (Without Lifting a Finger)
Let’s talk about unsexy leverage.
I’ve built an enjoyable side hustle charging $1,000/hour for advisory work when I feel out of touch with the market. Chaos is my oxygen. Clients hire me to walk into burning buildings, pull pins from grenades, and rebuild systems in the rubble. But here’s the dirty secret: advisory work doesn’t scale. It’s a profit center that trades time for money, and lately, my calendar’s been a warzone of complaints about unanswered calls and non available- weekends.
So I did something boring. Something embarrassingly simple.
The Pivot: From Hero to Architect
I took 10 years of frameworks, research, and hard-won digital transformation playbooks—the stuff I’d normally regurgitate in calls—and fed it to an AI. Not to replace myself, but to clone my brain.
The result? A GPT-powered version of me that does the unglamorous work I’d never bill for:
Free trial: Users define their problem and ask 20 questions.
$2/question after the trial: My AI walks them through my frameworks, serves 3 risk-weighted scenarios, and spits out a roadmap.
Upsell: Industrial clients who’d normally beg for a $1,000 call now beg to buy enterprise licenses instead when they see their credit card bill.
Boring? Yes.
Profitable? Let’s just say teams are addicted to the dopamine hit of $2 solutions that feel like stealing.
Why This Works (When “Sexy” Fails)
Scalable grunt work: My AI handles the repetitive “what-if” scenarios I’d never waste billable hours on.
Price anchoring: $2 feels like a coffee, but 100 questions = $200
Suddenly, my $10k enterprise tier looks cheap.
The Trojan Horse: Clients think they’re buying cheap answers. What they’re really buying is my methodology—and once they’re hooked, they want the “full human upgrade.” I have a CEO who asked over 80 questions in a single session.
The Lesson: Productize Your Scraps
You don’t need a flashy AI moonshot. The gold is in the boring, overlooked crumbs of your existing work:
Your frameworks
Your email templates
Your “I’ve said this 1,000 times” advice
Package them into a $2 solution. Let clients self-serve. Watch them come back begging for the premium version of you. Its like putting a soft service ice cream machine on your kitchen counter top. You will come for more.
The Bottom Line
AI isn’t here to replace consultants. It’s here to turn us into product CEOs.
The future belongs to those who turn their genius into systems—not sermons.
So ask yourself: What’s the $2 version of your $1,000/hour work?
Still think AI can’t scale your expertise? My GPT clone just sold a $15k license to someone who I havent had the time to chat with since Aug. Boring wins. Boring with AI is a side hustle agent without an expiry date.
What You Should Be Exploring
The Slime Mold That Outsmarted Human Engineers
Here’s a story that’ll make you rethink “intelligence” — and how nature is quietly schooling Silicon Valley.
In 2010, Japanese researchers did something bizarre: they placed a slime mold (a brainless, single-celled organism) in a maze shaped like Tokyo’s subway system, with oat flakes representing train stations. The slime mold grew tentacles to connect the “stations,” optimizing its network for efficiency.
But here’s the kicker: the slime mold recreated Tokyo’s actual rail network — a system that took human engineers decades to design.
Why This Matters for Builders
This isn’t just a fun biology fact. Slime molds are now inspiring AI algorithms for:
Optimizing supply chains (they solve the “Traveling Salesman Problem” better than most humans)
Designing resilient networks (they reroute around damage, like self-healing infrastructure)
Democratizing problem-solving (no PhD required — just biological principles)
The lesson? The future of innovation isn’t just in code — it’s in the wild.
While we chase AGI, nature’s been running 3.8 billion years of R&D. The next trillion-dollar startup might not come from a hackathon — it could come from studying how mushrooms communicate or how ants avoid traffic jams.
So, next time you’re stuck on a problem, ask: What would the slime mold do?

Solve problems you have at your company/job/startup/life. Take something that’s working, clone 80% of it, and innovate on 20% of it (new niche, new geography, new pricing model, etc.) Just go do it. Its like a sequel to a great show, high chance its a success.
One Last Thing
An OG told me once: They don’t respect you at the bottom, they ignore you in the middle, and they hate you at the top. You’ll never have everyone’s approval. So it’s best to just focus on what you’re doing.

Bonus! Thought of the week
“A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.”
Contrarian Take: Prompt Engineers will make more money than “traditional” engineers in sub 5 months
