We can not be silent or silenced about 🇵🇸

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

The hadith suggests a layered approach to dealing with injustice, recognizing that not everyone may be able to contribute in the same way, but even internal opposition is a form of response. It can provide comfort and a sense of purpose, knowing that there are different ways to stand against what is wrong, and every small action or intention counts.

We can all take action against the inhumanity on display by Israel, first by calling a spade a spade. No amount of lobbying, allies or taking stances on altered facts and history will undo the wrong that is being done to the Palestinian people. Humanity is weakened by the stance of the few(but powerful), history will judge them later, but we must do our part today for this injustice to stop. There is no curated/measured response on this, when a human life is taken, you can not measure the loss, you can not curate your feelings. All you can do is feel grief to see the tragic loss of life.

For Humanity to prevail and for us to be accountable to our children and future generations(irrespective of religion, cast, creed, disposition, nationality etc) there needs to be a Ceasefire Now. Take the actions you can take today, or hold your silence knowing you did not try to speak up for the children who could very well have been your own.

Before we talk about companies we can build, things we can do, skills we can learn, outcomes we can enhance, the only thing that matters today is making sure we understand our shared responsibility as humans to raise our voice against Israeli injustice. All our strides as humans; in science, technology, business, finance, sports, academics are worthless if we loose our humanity and if we take sides for economic or other gains whilst civilians are being bombed mercilessly.

For us to have any sensible future outcomes as a society, we must speak up for those who cant speak for them selves. Taking sides or hiding behind semantics of language when those who cant defend them selves is the least human thing to do. No other outcomes matter, when our outcomes as human beings are failing in front of us.

Know this, the median age of Palestinians is 19.6 years. Raising our collective voices is a social contract of trust, for all the worlds desire for democratic process and preaching to others to maintain civility and higher order values; bombing civilians is surely not an act of democracy. For once the developed world must act the way it preaches the rest of the world to do so.

Ceasefire Now.
